- Inter Milan terminate Carboni’s loan deal with Marseille
- 19-year-old Argentina international suffered season-ending ACL injury
- Inter plan to have him fit for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
Inter Milan Recall Carboni Following ACL Injury
Inter Milan have officially recalled Valentín Carboni from his loan spell at Olympique de Marseille, both clubs have confirmed.
“FC Internazionale Milano announce that, following discussions with Olympique de Marseille and the player, an agreement for the early loan termination of 2005-born Argentine striker Valentín Carboni was reached,” read Inter’s statement.
Marseille also confirmed that the decision was mutually agreed upon.
Why Did Inter Recall Carboni?
The decision to bring Carboni back makes sense as the 19-year-old is currently recovering from a season-ending ACL injury he sustained while on international duty with Argentina in October.
The young forward only made four appearances under Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi before suffering his injury.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Inter Milan are targeting Carboni’s return in time for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which is why they want him to complete his rehabilitation under their supervision.
